Frequently Asked Questions
Legacy is a branch of the We The Pixies project using original code to recreate Pixie Hollow as it was before closure in 2013. As Adobe Flash is no longer available, Legacy has been built in Adobe AIR - a version of Flash that is actively maintained by Samsung with new features and security updates.
More details will be shared out at a later date - stay tuned!
WTP Legacy is built on Flash code and requires players to install a launch application to their device. It is a version faithful to what the game looked like before closing in 2013, with features like pixie diamonds and the updated create-a-fairy process at the beginning of the game.
WTP Classic version, on the other hand, is built from the ground up for longevity on the modern web. This version aims to also be a faithful remake while adding some small changes to improve the gameplay experience, such bringing back the original create-a-fairy process which gives players more customisation off the bat.
Yes - our team is dedicated to continuing our development on our Classic project as well as WTP Legacy. Both will receive updates over time as we continue our goal of restoring the magic.
At this point in time, we are unsure of the feasibility of merging accounts between Legacy and Classic. However, if we find a solution we would love to include this as a feature sometime in future!
Legacy will be available on Windows, MacOS and Linux.
Unfortunately not - We The Pixies are not affiliated with Disney and are strictly a non-profit, fanmade remake. So as much as we would love to be able to restore all your old progress, we’re afraid you’ll have to start anew.
Our fairies are focused on bringing WTP Legacy to Windows, MacOS and Linux. We cannot guarantee playability on the Nintendo DS at this time.
A version of Flash is still run by Samsung called Adobe AIR. This program has allowed us to port the game across and make it playable again - only this time as an application like games you buy on Steam.
Membership will be available to every account for free! You won’t need to pay anything to access membership features and membership status will automatically be given to every fairy once they enter the Hollow for the first time.
Pixie Diamonds will not require purchase and instead can be obtained for free in-game through talent levels and ingredient trading. Some small adjustments have been made to the trading system to ensure this new feature is balanced appropriately.
Legacy is planned to have all core features running upon official release. However, some of these features may still be a work in progress during our alpha testing. Currently, the only core feature we are yet to restore is Wilderness gameplay.
Yes - WTP Legacy will continue to be worked on after its Alpha release. Our goal is to eventually bring back all possible features from the original Pixie Hollow.
We don’t have plans for any custom content at this time - our current goal is to remake the game as close to the original as possible. Custom content may be discussed in the far future, though!
